Wine is Big, but at the same time Wine is Small.
Be it Croatia, Virginia, New Zealand, or elsewhere, similar techniques are used, despite the language, terrior or style differences. Be it using CO2 to defend against oxidation (tanks vs. sacks), temperature during fermentation (Celsius vs. Fahrenheit), or local varietal (Posip vs. Viognier) wine making boils down to a respect for the craft. Hvala Croatia, for letting us enjoy your wines, and we hope you enjoy ours.

Each year we are fortunate enough to bring our friends to different parts of the wine world. Last Month, we brought a group to Portugal (Old World), and now we are in Croatia (Ancient World). Among the wines we had was from a grape called Grk, first planted 1000 years ago on an island called Korcula-and only planted there, where the salty and Sandy soil makes it thrive.
Wine does many wonderful things, but allowing us to bond with new friends and forever learn are two of the best.

Rob Kingsbury and his artisan chocolate brand will be at Pearmund Cellars for a pop up from 12p - 4p on Saturday July 6! His cult classic chocolate has been out of the market, so now is you chance to sample and purchase the best Chocolate this side of Switzerland!!
Plus, Heel of the Boot is here, our friends from 550 CORD INC will be hosting a fundraiser for Ukrainian support, special wine purchase opportunities and the Best wine and beer in the state!!

Our Friends, David and Robin, joined us to celebrate their 53rd(!!) Wedding Anniversary🎉😍🎊. What an honor for us to be part of such a special day. Congratulations and thanks for telling us how you do it!!

Meriwether Vineyard, the Oldest in Virginia and right here on our property, planted its first Chardonnay vines.

Yes we have 15 acres of Chardonnay grapes growing on our property (and looking good so far!), but as part of our new beer program, those long green poles you see when you enter are Hops.
Both Galena (aromatic) and Green Bullet (spicy) varietys are grown, and seen reaching the sky. They will be harvested in Mid-August, with plans for a special project or two....stay tuned.
Takes much beer to make great wine
Its always fun when we do our BBQ Lunches with the The District Pit, yesterday was no different. We joke, laugh, learn, eat, drink....and now have an answer to the question..."What is the best smoked Spare Rib you've ever had?". Hint, it was paired with 2019 Pearmund Cellars Ameritage!!
