Saturday October 24 at 6pm, Charles Peterson aka The Veteran Mentalist will be at Pearmund for a night of dinner, wine and wonder. Expect the unexpected and be taken on a 90 minute mind game tour. The night starts with a light dinner, then a night of magic and mentalism!!

Happy Birthday, Steven Spurrier.
American wine owes quite a bit to Steven Spurrier.
The British wine merchant is best known for organizing the Judgment of Paris in 1976, a blind tasting that put some of California’s best wines up against some of the best from France. California wines finished first in both the red and white categories—and suddenly the wine world had to look at California a little differently.
Later in life, Steven became a champion of Virginia wine, long before it was fashionable. He visited Virginia, tasted our wines, and saw their value and potential. Eventually he served as a judge in the Virginia Governor’s Cup competition, bringing National recognition to the event. His support helped bring credibility and attention to a young and growing wine region that is now the 5th biggest in the United States.
Today would have been his 85th birthday. We lost Mr. Spurrier in 2021, but his influence on American wine—and Virginia wine in particular—lives on.
