Maureen Clendenny's Friends Love Pearmund Cellars Too Maureen Clendenny

"Thank you for hosting my group for a private tasting!  We enjoyed our visit to the winery, and the press pad provided a very authentic setting for the tasting. Our servers were both patient and informative when it came to administering and explaining each wine. Judging from the smiles on our faces, it is clear that our experience was resoundingly enjoyable."
Witty, Informative Staff at Pearmund Cellars George Hodges and Skye Harris

"We visited at least 10 different wineries during Virginia Tech's Spring Break, and Pearmund Cellars was our favorite. We are fairly new to wine because we are only 22, but we were welcomed with open arms at your establishment and were treated like royalty. Please pass along our thanks to Lori for going above and beyond to make sure we had a great learning and an overall outstanding  experience. She is the best!"
James River Homebrewers Love Pearmund Cellars Too James River Home Brew Club, Dave Rockafellow

"On behalf of the James River Home Brew Club, I would like to thank you and the staff of Pearmund Winery for hosting us on February 28th.  You were set up perfectly for us in the Barrel Room and the discussion that accompanied the tastings was very informative.  I saw quite a number of beer lovers leaving with wine that day (me included)."
Pearmund Cellars Vineyard Winery Staff: Lori Tolson Dave and Nancy Kennedy

"We just returned from a two-day tour of vineyards in Northern Virginia and wanted to say how much we enjoyed our visit to Pearmund Cellars. We particularly appreciated our well-informed, knowledgeable, and friendly tasting guide, Lori Tolson. She certainly added to our overall experience. Without any negatives for other Northern Virginia vineyards, for we are fans of all Virginia wines, we both felt that your wines are truely exceptional.  We hope to visit again, particularly when the weather turns warmer."
Pearmund Celllars Chardonnay
Bob Wright

"I had the pleasure of visiting Pearmund in September, and brought home several bottles of your wines. While I don't have the world's worst palate when it comes to tasting wines, I am still occasionally guilty of letting the setting influence my judgement. So, I usually don't load up on wines when I visit a tasting room, rather I wait to the wine to prove itself once I get home. Well, the Meriwhether Chardonnay has certainly proven itself. It is simply a lovely wine. In my several trips winery-hopping in the area, Pearmund has stood out as having the best lineup top to bottom. Yall have a good thing going on!"
Gary Vaynerchuk Enjoys Virginia Wine Wine Library TV, Gary Vaynerchuk

In episode 528, Gary Vaynerchuk tasted six Virginia wines at our sister winery in Haymarket, Virginia.  Wines tasted were: 2007 La Grange Pinot Grigio; 2007 Pearmund Viognier; 2006 Rappahannock Cellars Cabernet Franc; 2007 King Family Cabernet Franc, and 2004 Pearmund Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2006 La Grange Snort Port.
Barbara Hansen Enjoys Virginia Wine Table Conversation, Barbara Hansen

"I visited only two wineries  during my few days in Virginia, but this was enough to know that if I lived there, I wouldn’t lack for good wine. The two were Pearmund Cellars Winery and The Winery at La Grange.  . . .  The Pearmund Petit Verdot 2007 was dark and rich, just what I would like to go with hearty stews, steaks and pasta. Alas, it was still in the barrel. I also coveted Pearmund’s Ameritage 2005, a mellow blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc."
Witty, Informative Staff at Pearmund Cellars Rich and Gloria Lombardi

"My husband, son, daughter-in-law, and I  visited your vineyards on a recent Saturday and had a wonderful time. We ended up bringing a case of wine home with us to Williamsburg and think of that day often as we enjoy the wine. The experience was made so memorable because of Lori who assisted us during our tasting. She was extremely informative, witty, and accommodating and ensured that we were enjoying ourselves. It was such fun that we look forward to a return visit the next time we are up there. "
Bachelorette Parties at Pearmund Cellars Heather Tomasek

"Thanks again to Chris and DJ for a fantastic afternoon!  We ended my bachelorette winery outing with the best and our absolute favorite.  You guys took great care and went out of your way to make it a special day for me! My sincerest thanks! We, of course, will be back."
Pearmund Cellars Friendly Staff Debby and Jeff Riplinger

"Our first visit was yesterday (Sunday, March 30, 2008), and I can't wait to return. Friends are coming in May from Europe, and this is one attractions we won't miss.  We can't wait for them to experience the friendly staff and the great wine. Redmund, your wine dog, is a delight too."
VA Winery Partner: Mayhurst Inn Shannon and Mandy, Guests of the Mayhurst Inn

"As part of the Mayhurst Inn's ' Virginia Wine Country Vacation Package', they set us up with tours of six nearby Virginia wineries over a two-day weekend -- in addition to serving Virginia wines each evening at the Inn and providing us with a bottle of Pearmund's Cabernet Sauvignon in our room.  Pearmund Cellars was our favorite. The Pearmund staff were friendly and informative. Pearmund has a great selection of excellent wines, and we purchased several.  We highly recommend Pearmund and Mayhurst.  We had a wonderful birthday weekend."
Pearmund Cellars Enjoyed by the Meandering Ones The Meandering Ones

"Pearmund was voted Virginia’s Favorite Winery this year, and I think with good reason. They have a good selection and the wines are very balanced. They are also producing some really creative wine, most notably the Ameritage, which is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Mark was very knowledgeable with the wines and wasn’t afraid to offer opinions and suggestions for food pairings. I would comfortably say that Pearmund is in our Top 5 Virginia Wines."
People's Choice Plaque Honoring Virginia's Favorite Winery Cathe Lutzkanin

"Congrats on winning 'most favorite winery.' I know we try to get there every chance we can. We live in Richmond and travel to Pennsylvania to see family. Pearmund is our MUST stop on the way!"
Virginia Merlot Pairing with Standing Rib Roast with Yorkshire Pudding Paul Gregg, Seymour, Wisconsin

"I just want to say what an absolutely fabulous, delightful, and truly excellent wine we enjoyed at supper on December 31, 2007. I am referring to Lisa's Merlot 2004, which was among a number of wines we purchased at your winery near Broad Run. We had it with a standing rib roast, simply prepared with garlic slivers, salt, black pepper, and Yorkshire Pudding. It was a truly memorable meal, especially so because of your wonderful wine. I don't consider myself to be a very accomplished cook, but I would be very proud to serve this meal to anybody. We live 1000 miles from your winery but hope to come to Virginia to visit my sister who lives just ¼ mile up the road. I shall stock up again on a quantity of the wines you recommend. We now have several very good reasons to come, and your wine itself is worth the trip!"
Pearmund Cellars Estate Chardonnay Recommendation Hal Richthammer

On October 12, 2007, I visited my brother-in-law Curtis Leetch, who lives in Gainesville, VA. He took me to the Bonefish Grill for dinner. I asked Curtis if he’s been drinking any of the wines from Virginia. He said, 'No, there not that good!' I remarked, 'How many have you had, and what varietals? Evidently not the right ones." Then, the waitress pulled in to ask if we were planning to have wine with our meal, and, if so, did we have a preference? When I said probably a dry white, she recommended your wine, saying it was very good. Well, it was more than very good! I thought it was one of the cleanest and most pleasing Chardonnays Ive had this side of the Atlantic. Don’t get me wrong I like California’s style for some pairings, but I prefer balance to bigness when it comes to food. Thank you all for this fine wine. I think Curtis left the table with a little different opinion of Virginia’s winemakering capabilities."
Kyle Edgell Caricature of Sue at Pearmund Cellars Tommy and Betty Thornton

"Just wanted to thank you for making such good wine and having pleasant people greet us when we visit. Sue is top notch! We love her conversations and company."
Pearmund Cellars Enjoyed by Eat.Drink.DC Blogger Wine Trail Traveler

"... This is one of the few wineries we have visited, where there is a children’s area supplied with toys. This is a great idea, especially for parents who want to stop by to purchase a wine or wine accessory gift.  We stayed a Pearmund Cellars for longer than we anticipated, due to the friendliness and willingness of Chris Pearmund and Rick Tagg to talk to us. Chris is a big promoter of the wine industry. It is really great to meet someone who is willing to share his extensive knowledge in order to help other businesses ..."

"Pearmund usually ends up being a stop on any wine tasting day trip that B and I take, and I'm regularly impressed by the quality of the wines and the winery itself. It's a quiet, low-key place that takes its wine-making quite seriously. It's on the way when you're heading out from DC to Rappahannock or Faquier counties, but if you can't make it there, they have wines on several wine lists in the area (including Mendocino, 2941, Firefly, Colvin Run Tavern and Ardeo)."
Pearmund Cellars Enjoyed by Virginia Vine Spot Blogger Virginia Vine Spot Blogger, Dezel Quillen

"Pearmund Cellars, owned by the much respected and well known Chris Pearmund, is a relatively new winery that has matured and developed quite nicely since opening for business in 2003. Chris Pearmund has also assisted and helped a number of wineries in Virginia, leaving his mark for quality wine all along the Virginia wine trail."

"I encourage readers to visit Pearmund Cellars as we did and pack a pinic basket and find a wine that works for you and with your food selections. All the wines at Pearmund Cellars are delicious and high quality so you cannot go wrong."

"Thank you for a lovely evening in your vineyard!  The weather you ordered for the day was perfect!  The food was delicious!  And the service was impeccable!  Everything came together into a beautiful winemaker's dinner. Our cousins, Seth and Rachel Coleman, Alan, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. "
Pearmund Cellars Viognier Enjoyed by Annette Najjar and Chris Kulczycki Tony Tedeschi

"Just wanted to let you know that the viognier is absolutely delicious. I don't usually drink white wine but purchased a bottle yesterday at the Grapevine (the last one) to bring to a dinner. It was a big hit! The wine is very unique yet tastes like a fine Virginia wine. What impressed me about it was how good it tasted even at room temperature.  Also, your Ameritage is fantastic. You truly have some of the finest Virginia wines I've ever tasted."

"My husband and I came to your vineyard in mid-October. We've just opened the Cabernet Franc 2002 that we purchased. Our Christmas Day was complete. We (unfortunately) shared it with friends, whose reactions you'd find very gratifying. Congratulations on a great wine. We can't wait to get some more and then selfishly hide the bottles."
Virginia Wine Maker Dinner Enjoyed by Joe & Christy Rogers Joe and Christy Rogers

"Just wanted to extend our thanks to you and Lisa for hosting such an incredible dinner on Saturday.  This was our first winemaker's dinner and everyone in our group had a fabulous time! We will definitely be returning to Pearmund and look forward to many more fun-filled tastings and wine dinners. The food was wonderful; the staff was great; and the atmosphere was the perfect backdrop to our anniversary celebration! We know a lot of hard work and committment went into the evening. Thanks to everyone involved!"
Intimate Virginia Winery Dinner Planned by Chris Leach

"I wanted to say thanks for you hospitality a couple weeks back when a large group of us came out for Kasay's birthday party. We had a great time eating and drinking your great wine out by the barn. The tour was also a terrific experience. When I was leaving, we discussed the tables you put in place for private tasting and dinning.  I told one of my buddies, and we are going to surprise our wives! In closing, I've been to almost every winery in Virginia and you have one heck of a setup. Great product, great people, and a great facility."

Taylor Monfort

"We purchased your 2002 Ameritage at Whole Foods last weekend.  It was the best Virginia red wine we've had since the 1985 Meredyth Cabernet. We enjoyed meeting you.  My wife and I are looking forward to trying the Chardonnay next."
