Saint
Paddy himself would be thrilled to experience our "Luck O'Redmund" Days and Shades of
Green Wine Dinner. From Saturday,
March 15th, through Monday,
the 17th, we will offer a special "Go green ... Drink locally" souvenir glass
with our classic or reserve tasting, and Redmund has authorized a
special Greenmund's Irish Brew.
Buy a glass of this green wine,
and you'll receive a special treat
to make your Irish celebration festive. You may also want to take
home Redmund's Green Box with
two of his Reserve White wines for $22.50. To extend your luck, bring your best friends to our Shades of Green Wine Dinner on March 15th. We will honor Emerald Isle traditions with a gourmet winemaker's dinner dedicated to Irish fare and flavors. We heard that Wild Irish Salmon and Irish-Bacon Wrapped Rack of Lamb are Saint Paddy's favorite dishes. You may also wish to bring your favorite wine lovers to other March activities:

In
the Vineyard: Under Chris'
direction, Jesus Chavez and his skilled team of vineyard workers
have been pruning our vines. They are removing last year's
growth from the vine and lowering our
trellis catch wires. To
learn about pruning and training vines, read
articles from the University
of Missouri's Extension Office.![]() In the Winery: If you missed the 2008 Virginia Wine Showcase, you may not have heard that our 2005 Late Harvest Viognier was selected Best Dessert Wine. For a complete listing of our state, regional, and national honors, check our Awards page. Stop by the winery to judge whether this fine wine meets your sophisticated tastes! We may also need to start a Farthest Visitor page, because Travis and Raye Hick drove 12 hours just to sample Redmund's Reserve wines. After their tasting tour, Redmund suggest they visit his favorite underground dig, Luray Caverns. |

Currently, all direct-to-consumer wine
shipments are prohibited by Maryland
law. However, passage of House
Bill 1260 and its companion, Senate Bill 616, would allow any
winery or
retailer licensed by Maryland to ship a limited amount of wine directly
to state residents who are 21 years or older. Based on direct shipping
laws that have been successfully
implemented in many states, the bills are endorsed by the Maryland
Winery Association, supported by the Federal Trade Commission, and
cited by the U.S. Supreme Court. We encourage Maryland consumers to access Free the Grapes and personalize messages to their state legislators. For more information, read the Maryland Gazette. |
