Our Process

In the Winery: In late November, we bottled our 2006 Ameritage and Ameritage Reserve. If you have never experienced the efficiency of a mobile bottling line, you may be interested in clicking the pictures on the our Bottling page which shows how:

Bottles are loaded, cleaned, and filled;
Corks and capsules are impressed;
Front and back labels are sealed;
Quality of bottle packaging is checked; and
Boxes are filled, taped, stamped, and packed for storage.

Our People

In November, Mary Anne Wassenberg, our webmaster, along with several other members of our Pearmund Cellars family, attended the 2007 American Wine Society Conference. This yearly conference hosts a commercial wine competition, an amateur wine competition, vendor displays, wine judge certification classes, and seminars on unique varietals, wine regions, historical events, food-pairing, and winemaking.

At the commerical wine competition, Pearmund Cellars won five new medals, including a a gold medal for our 2005 Ameritage Reserve and a silver medal for our 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon. For more details, see the society's Commercial Competition Results page.

Restaurant: Restaurant 3 shows the Cahill/Williams family's focused attention to detail. Their menu showcases regional styles of American cuisine and reflects a passion for fresh ingredients. And, friendly, efficient servers provide exceptional dining in three unique settings: the Brunswick Room, adorned with original artwork by local artists; the Garfield Room, designed around an art deco bar; and the Clarendon Room, highlighted by stone fireplace, slate floors, and wooden ceilings.

Inn: The Founders Inn and Spa offers 240 luxurious guest rooms and suites with a charming, old-world decor that combines the warmth of a country inn with Colonial-era architecture.
