Are
you looking for a unique gift for your
favorite wine lover? Allow us to personalize a birthday, anniversary,
or other special greeting on a bottle of our Viognier or Merlot.
Purchase
our
wine at the winery, then, for an additional $3.50, we will
create a personalized label with your message! Click on the
picture
to see a larger view of past selections. Forms are available at
the
winery. For a single bottle, we can often fill the order on the day you
request it. For multiple bottle orders, we may require a few days to
complete the labelling so call ahead to (540) 347-3475! Add our
birthday wine
glass, wine country book / video, or winery shirt / hat, and your
shopping will be complete.![]() We also offer seasonal wine glasses, usually with variations on our "Drink Locally. Think Globally!" motto. Many customers are starting to be avid collectors. In late November, our Christmas glass will be available, followed by our New Year's glass in late December. These glasses are free with tastings or available for purchase as gifts. Click on the picture to see a larger view of our Valentine's Day glass. Stop
by the winery during your Fall foliage excursion and pick up one of our
seasonal wine specials: our Basket
Case is a crazy, mixed-up
sampler of twelve classic and reserve wines for $180, and our Autumn Red
Trio contains a bottle of 2004 Cabernet Franc, 2004 Lisa’s
Merlot,
and 2004 Ameritage for $55.
These
wines are perfect for sipping by your fireplace, at your game table, or
during your tail
gate
party. You may also want to purchase wine trios for your best friends,
or bring them along so they can buy their own. Celebrate the season by
attending our special wine tastings and dinners, listed above
and on our Tastings
page. For a gothic end to October, enjoy Cab
Frankenstein's vertical tasting in our haunted barrel room,
then
continue to the Winery at La
Grange for more trick-or-treating. In November, learn about
winemaking, plus experience Pearmund
Cellars wines paired with the finest Indian cuisine at Dishes of India
and learn about Indian culture at Deepavali,
the most
pan-Indian of all
Hindu festivals. Then, in December, start enjoying Christmas tastings,
shopping, and
wine dinners. Unfortunately, our Beast Feast is sold out
until next
year, but look for more exotic festivities in upcoming months. Of
course, you can always invite your
favorite wine store or restaurant to
co-host a unique wine tasting or dinner with us. Just ask them
to
contact Mark Parsons at (540) 347-3475. |

Our Process |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In
the Winery: The labor-intensive portion of wine-making
has finished for 2007, and we are now turning to our late fall and
early winter tasks. Since we have more time available for indoor
activities, we are concentrating on enhancing our fun-filled, yet
educational, customer experiences. In the past couple of years, Chris
Pearmund, Mark Parsons, and others have been teaching courses for Lord
Fairfax College, Northern Virginia Community College, Taste DC, and
others. While Pearmund Cellars will continue to support these
organizations, we decided that it is time to create our own courses
with content that our customers crave. Priced at $25, the first course in our Educational Experience Series is
about pairing fine wine and hand-made
chocolate. Chocolaterie Wanders and Café Torino, will
assist us in preparing an exquisite, luxurious, and irresistible
presentation of knowledge, wine, and food. Afterwards, participants
will enjoy discounts on holiday boxes of wine and chocolate and special
gift offerings. Information on other courses in Pearmund Cellars
Educational Experience Series will be available soon. To date, six
courses have been prepared, and discounts will be given for customers
who participate in multiple courses. |

Our People |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
If you stopped by the winery last week, you
probably noticed that we finally received our “really big
plaque” from the People’s
Choice Poll. Click on the
picture to see a larger view of the plaque. We would
like to thank all of you, our very loyal customers, for not only
choosing Pearmund Cellars as your favorite winery, but for also
bringing your friends, colleagues, and relatives to enjoy our
hospitality and asking them to vote for us too. Your support makes our
staff work harder, longer, and smarter to improve the best winery
experience in Virginia! |

Partner: With elegant,
efficient service to Fredericksburg and Caroline,
Culpeper, Fauquier, King George, Prince William, Spotsylvania,
Stafford, and Westmoreland counties of Virginia, Fredericksburg
Limousine and Executive Sedans specialize in weddings, parties,
proms,
anniversaries, formal events, nights out, and tours. Contact them to
plan your full-day tour to Pearmund Cellars and other Blue Ridge
WineWay locations. Wine
Store: The friendly, dedicated staff at Unwined Gourmet Wine and Cigars
strongly believe that customer service is the key that distinguishes
them from their competition. They carry over 1000 wines from hundreds
of producers, specializing in great bottles under $15, and stock the
best beer selection around, from specialty domestics and microbrews to
imports. Their large capacity commercial humidor holds hundreds of
cigars and their smaller showcase humidor features discontinued cigars
and special deals. They proudly offer Virginia products including
peanuts,
cheeses, jams, coffee, sauces, and dips. The store's picnic gear and
wine accessories are great for outings to Pearmund Cellars and other
local wineries. Restaurant:
Chefs Ramanand Bhatt and Sohan Singh are the reasons that Dishes of India
is considered the best Indian dining in the Washington D.C. area.
Hundreds of herbs and spices are used in their cooking and everything
is prepared from scratch each day using fresh vegetables and the finest
quality
meats. Yet their menu prices leave money in your wallet. With
traditional elegance and decor in contemporary facilities and attentive
personal service, the restaurant's friendly, welcoming, comfortable
atmosphere fully complements the delightful, exotic, spiced aromas and
flavors of their cuisine. This year, Pearmund Cellars is proving the
wines for their celebration of Deepavali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.
Inn: A magnificent,
rare Italianate
Victorian gem, remarkable for its fanciful, exuberant architecture and
oval-spiral staircase ascending four floors, Mayhurst Inn is listed on
the National Registry of Historic Places and is a Virginia Historic
Landmark for its historic and architectural merit. With the best of the
antebellum era and 21st
century comforts, the inn offers plantation-style
breakfasts on its large patio or in its dining room by
the fireplace. For wine lovers, snacks, cheeses, and fine wines are
served each
evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Note that General Robert E. Lee,
General "Stonewall" Jackson, and General A. P. Hill really did sleep
here!. |

Our Industry |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
On October 8th, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine met with Chris
Pearmund to discuss the future of Virginia
agritourism and the wine industry. The meeting was arranged by
Bill Day, candidate for the Virginia
General Assembly, and was attended by Warrenton Mayor George Fitch. The
Governor was given an impromptu tour of harvest and wine making
operations while Chris explained the close relationship between wine
making,
retail sales, and the underpinning of vineyard operations
conducted by small family-owned farm enterprises. Governor Kaine voiced
his support for agriculture and related issues (e.g., open space
preservation, energy conservation) and encouraged new investment in the
eco-friendly enterprise of wine grape production and wine making. For
more information, see the press
release. |
